The Minnesota Daily, a student-run newspaper, publishes a series of photos every year that illustrate an average day in the life of a U of M student on campus. As the Minnesota Daily states, they document “24 hours in the lives of those who attend class, make their livings and spend their days on and near the University of Minnesota campus.” Take a look!
We want to give a shout out to our amazing Admissions Ambassadors, who were honored with a nomination for a 2013 Tony Diggs Excellence Award. In honor of Tony Diggs, former Director of the Student Activities Office, the Tony Diggs Excellence Awards are intended to recognize student group achievements at the U of M.
There were many outstanding students and student groups featured at last evening’s ceremony. Kynesha Patterson (featured in the photo above), the current president of the Black Student Union, gave an inspiring speech about what it means to be a student leader. We’re UMNProud of all of the students and groups honored last evening. Ski-U-Mah to you all!
Did you know that the U of M has one of the largest learning abroad programs in the nation?
Studying abroad can help you in more ways than catching Ryan Gosling’s attention - learning abroad experiences help you impress potential employers, open your eyes to other cultures, gain new perspectives on the world and increase your language skills.
The University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center offers many resources and services to students interested in gaining an international experience. Your options aren’t limited to just studying abroad - you can also work, intern, or volunteer! Check out some of our programs at http://www.umabroad.umn.edu/
Congratulations to University of Minnesota Women’s Hockey— back-to-back national champions! On Sunday, the Gophers beat Boston University to complete a 41-0-0 season. Amanda Kessel scored her 100th point during the game on Sunday, becoming only the fourth player in NCAA history to accomplish this feat. AMAZING STUFF, GOPHERS! Ski-U-Mah.
